The Weaving Space is your space to relax and learn the art of the loom
The physical Weaving Space is currently closed. All workshops and face-to-face teaching engagements have been cancelled through to the end of 2020, and I am exploring ways to bring you more weaving ideas online. See the News page for more details.
Do you want to understand double weave?
It's alluring, it's tantalising, it's the doorway to a world of weaving possibility...
It can also be a challenge!
I'm launching a new online course in February 2021 to help you cut through the confusion and become a confident double weaver.
Weaving ideas and inspiration on the Warp Space blog
Welcome to the Weaving Space
My name is Cally Booker and I am a handweaver based in Dundee on the east coast of Scotland. As well as hosting classes in my fully-equipped studio in a refurbished jute mill, I travel to Guilds and groups around the UK to teach the art and craft of weaving. Through my Warp Space blog I offer resources to help novice and intermediate weavers develop creative confidence at the loom.
Over the fifteen years I have been weaving, I have exhibited my work nationally and internationally and become known for my colourful weaving style and my lively enthusiasm for the structure of woven cloth. I am a member of the Society of Designer Craftsmen and a Past President of Complex Weavers, an international organisation with a mission to educate and encourage innovation in handweaving.
