This is a four-day course spread over two weekends. The first weekend will be spent learning the basics: you will weave samples, learn how to read a weaving draft and work through all the steps of designing and planning your own project. The second weekend is all about your project! You will dress the loom and weave a piece to your own design. You will also learn some techniques for finishing your woven cloth.
The course fee includes everything you will need for weaving, including the loan of a portable table loom. You will be able to take the loom away for up to four weeks after the second workshop in order to complete your project. If you can, save the afternoon of Sunday 29 March for loom return and a ‘cutting-off tea party’!
The class is designed for complete beginners, but is also suitable for ‘rusty’ weavers who want to refresh their skills.
Dates: Saturday 15 & Sunday 16 February, Saturday 29 February & Sunday 1 March 2020
Times: 10:00 am – 5:00 pm each day.
Venue: the workshop will take place in my Meadow Mill studio.
