12 Twills of Christmas: Twill 9
2 January
The day after New Year is possibly the gloomiest day in the northern hemisphere, except in Scotland. Here we know better than to try and force ourselves straight back to work after the festivities, and keep the curtains drawn for one beautiful extra day.
In case you are not so fortunate, today’s draft brings you some twill curtains to hide behind. It is an 8-shaft networked threading which swoops and curves like draping fabric. The treadling is exactly the same as this one and serves the same purpose: to soften and elongate the design. You could re-use the same tie-up too, but I have opted for one which will maximise the contrast between warp-faced and weft-faced areas.
